Dedication Pavers

Memorialize your memories on the North Shore!

Show Your Love While Supporting Devil’s Lake State Park

Through the hubbub of the North Shore, as you enter the historic Chateau, you can find joy and peace in the dedication pavers lining the walkway. A dedication paver is an excellent way to memorialize your loved ones and their connection to this special place, or cement your attachment to the park. Decades of family memories, adventurous outdoor pursuits with friends, shared love and laughter, and a way to find comfort are all reflected in dedication pavers. Pavers come in three sizes. Messages are customized by the purchaser.

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! Can’t wait to share this with my 89-year old father.

“Bob (my dad) was well known for spending lots of time on the North Shore playing his recorder (flute) every summer for well over 30 years. In his retirement, he could be found there almost every day & made friends with hundreds of people. It was his physical and emotional sanctuary.”

Andy Johnson, son of the “Pied Piper of Devil’s Lake.” Paver installed in 2025.

PAVER TALES

Lisa Jackson shared this story with us upon installation of the paver in her mother’s memory:

“Our family has a lot of history at Devil's Lake.  My grandfather, Frank Marquardt, worked in maintenance and at the Chateau years ago. My grandparents also owned a small cabin located just past the railroad tracks on the North Shore.

I grew up in Baraboo and my mom and dad, John and Lou Ann Hirschinger, took us to the Lake quite often during the summer months. I've lived in Middleton for years now and we've brought our kids many summer days to the Lake.

Such a special place ~ a true gem!”

A Project of the Friends

Dedication pavers are sponsored by the Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, established to assist Devil’s Lake and its programs. Funds raised through the sale of pavers go directly into the Friends’ work supporting Devil’s Lake and its programs.

Dedication benches are no longer available for purchase at Devil’s Lake State Park. However, you can purchase a dedication paver to be placed in the paver area in the North Shore Day Use area, on the walkway leading to the Chateau. Pavers are installed seasonally as volunteer time allows. Please expect 6-8 weeks from March - September, and longer if purchasing from October - February.
