Now Hiring: Social Media Contractor
We are seeking a social media contractor to lead our social media presence to grow the organization, our revenue, and our reach.
THE WORK
Collaborate with the Marketing Committee to spearhead an enhanced social media marketing campaign whose main focus is Instagram and Facebook.
Create and drive organic content (photo, video, Reels, etc) that increases engagement and ultimately leads to more donations, members, and volunteers.
Post content on a regular basis autonomously.
Assist with creating graphics for events promoted online.
Grow and maximize the use of Instagram and Facebook.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
2–3 years experience in professional social media content creation or digital storytelling.
Proven track record of building and engaging audiences.
Strong proficiency in the nuances of Instagram and Facebook.
Clear, confident writing skills and a deep understanding of voice, tone, grammar, and caption strategy with strong attention to detail.
Highly organized and self-motivated individual who can follow instructions and run with an idea.
Applicants with experience using Canva, InDesign, or other design software will be given priority consideration.
Ability to engage park visitors, staff, and the board of directors to meet organization’s goals.
A passion for outdoor recreation, natural resources, and the greater Devil’s Lake State Park community.
SAMPLE TASKS
Write, edit, photograph, record, and publish engaging content for various social networks, including Facebook and Instagram.
Create appealing images and video to complement text.
Coordinate with Friends volunteers, organizations, brands, and partners to identify rich content development opportunities, share resources, and build relationships.
Respond to comments posted on social media, in coordination with the Friends.
Promote, attend, and document Friends events.
Review posts and trends with Marketing Committee and revise strategies, as appropriate.
Monthly, archive all images produced for social media work on the Friends shared drive.
In partnership with the Marketing Committee, create a calendar of specific posting topics.
LOGISTICS & PAY
This position works as an Independent Contractor working part-time. Monthly salary will range from $700 - $1000 depending on experience.
Candidate is ideally based in Baraboo or the surrounding area. The position is remote but will require attending events on-site and off-site throughout the year and capturing the park in different seasons and at different times of the day.
Start date: early July
