Native Arts and Culture of Teewakącąk (Ho-Chunk): The Language of Beads

Thursday, August 28, 2 – 4 p.m.

Join us to engage and enjoy in the art and culture of the area’s Indigenous peoples.

 

Sayokla Kindness (Oneida) is an award-winning bead artist and a water protector. She will share her knowledge of the use of beads amongst Native peoples paired with her commitment to the environment. Participants will create water protector pins made with beads. To register for this program, call the Nature Center at Devil’s Lake to reserve your spot: (608) 356-8301 ext. 140. This program was made possible by an Incentive Grant from The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and funding provided by The Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park.

 

This event will take place outside the Nature Center.
