Mission

Devil’s Lake State Park hosts more than 2.4 million visitors a year. The nonprofit Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park contribute their minds, muscle, and money to ensure the Park remains a vibrant, unspoiled jewel of nature.

The Friends partner with Park staff and volunteers to complete environmental and beautification projects, sponsor educational and recreational visitor activities, and raise funds to support special Park projects and initiatives like the forthcoming Interpretive Center.

The Midwest’s Most Visited State Park

Devil’s Lake State Park serves a tremendous number of visitors each year, and generates significant revenue for the park system. However, Wisconsin State Parks operate on a shared revenue system, so Devil’s Lake shares its revenues with the rest of the Wisconsin park system, and only a small portion is returned to Devil’s Lake State Park.

The Friends help the Park stretch their dollars through grants, fundraising, and direct donations/contributions to help protect its natural resources and increase the quality of visitor experiences. Join us!

“The park has much to offer in recreation, education and research, but most significant may be its intangible values.”

— Ken Lange, Park Naturalist (1966 - 1996)
